After living in London for four years, I’ve broken down this walking tour according to what is most iconic and in the same general direction. I’ve left out major sites like London Bridge and Hyde Park in order to keep the flow going without exhausting you too much.
The difficulty of this walk is minimal – suitable for children and people of all ages – since it’s relatively flat with minimal stairs and maximum photo ops! You can download the map on Google Maps and use it to guide you throughout the city.

Buckingham Palace
Say hello to the royal family with a visit to Buckingham Palace! My Ultimate London Walking Tours starts in Green Park and continues north into the city.
Big Ben
Located at the north end of Westminster, Big Ben is known as ‘the prince of timekeepers: the biggest, most accurate four-faced striking and chiming clock in the world.’
The London Eye
I was actually PROPOSED to in the London Eye after my now-husband organized a flash mob to surprise me… I thought it was for someone else until the very end LOL (video here). The London Eye is ICONIC and not to be missed. It holds a deep, meaningful place in my heart.
Piccadilly Circus
Piccadilly Circus (Square) directly links to the London theater district on Shaftesbury Avenue. It’s super close to the major shopping and entertainment areas in the West End.
Oxford Circus
Known as Europe’s busiest shopping street with nearly half a million visitors a day, Oxford Circus is London’s major shopping center with all the major flagship stores lining Regent Street.
The British Museum
With breathtaking architecture, The British Museum is a public institution dedicated to history, art, and culture. It’s home to some of the largest and most comprehensive collections in existence.
Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross
For all the Potterheads out there, you can take a photo at Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross and then mosey down to the office Harry Potter story for classic memorabilia.
Camden Market
Round out the day with food and shopping from some of London’s trendiest vendors. From gluten-free cupcakes to show-stopping vintage, Camden Market is the perfect souvenir stop.
