5 Romantic Things to Do in Thailand for Couples

Looking for a tropical romantic getaway in Southeast Asia? Well, Marcus and I have just got back from a much-earned vacation in Thailand, and I was blown away. From amazing food tours to relaxation hotspots to insanely cool resorts and hotels, the value for money in Thailand is incredible.

So, here are my favorite things to do in Thailand for couples.

Places to Stay in Thailand for Couples

First things first, here are some of my personal recommendations for places to stay in Thailand if you want an amazing trip.

Amatara Welleisure Resort

Honestly, I’m not normally an all-inclusive person, but Amatara Welleisure Resort was so amazing when we were in Phuket. Not only is it a beautiful place to stay right on the beach, but it has a full-service spa, treatments, and activities designed to promote ultimate relaxation and wellness.

One of the best things about the Amatara Welleisure Resort had to be the meal plans. They tailor everything to your specific wellness goals so you don’t have to think about anything!

I also got a bit ill during our stay, but the resort literally hooked me up with vitamin-filled infusions that had me back on my feet in no time.

I cannot recommend this place enough! Definitely five-star luxury vibes with a focus on making sure you feel at your best!

W Bangkok

Part of the Marriott group, the W Bangkok was the perfect base for us to explore Thailand’s capital. It’s super sleek in its design style, has all of the high-end amenities and services that you’d expect from a five-star luxury city hotel, and has an awesome food culture attached to it.

Choose from a whole host of different restaurants and vibes, including the Wet Deck which is the hotel’s open-air swimming pool bar. Some of these cocktails were delicious and deadly, but with the skyline views, it was one of the best ways to end the day in Bangkok!

Isara Boutique Hotel and Cafe

If you’re visiting Thailand on a budget, check out the super cute Isara Boutique Hotel and Cafe in Phuket. With the colorful aesthetics and a beautiful courtyard pool that feels secluded and private, it’s an amazing place to stay in the heart of the Old Town.

Add in the fact that the adjoining cafe serves up awesome food and drink all day long, and you’ve got yourself the perfect Phuket place to stay on a budget!

5 Things to Do as a Couple in Thailand

Okay, so once you’re in Thailand with your loved one, what are the best things to do? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!

1. A Chef’s Tour: Street Food Tour

Okay, so you definitely cannot go to Thailand and not eat your weight in street food. I’m pretty sure it’s the law. So, we opted to book a street food tour run by A Chef’s Tour that came with a guide and a private tuk-tuk driver for the whole night.

We hit up several different market locations, and the guide was really helpful in explaining the cultural significance of the different dishes, ordering the best dishes for us, and even taking us to Michelin-starred vendors, which I’d never have noticed if I wasn’t on this tour.

The tour started at around 7 pm and we drove around Bangkok, ate, drank, and had an amazing time until midnight. The vibes on this tour were incredible with the addition of having a private tuk-tuk to whizz us around from place to place, and, of course, I ate the most incredible food. What’s not to love about that?

2. Wellness Packages at Amatara

Although I’ve spoken a little bit about Amatara, spending the day at their onsite spa was definitely one of the best things do to in Thailand as a couple. With massages, wraps, rubs, yoga, watersports, tai chi, and more, it’s such a relaxing and rewarding way to spend the day in Phuket.

3. Snorkeling Around Koh Tao

What’s better than swimming around in crystal clear waters with your partner surrounded by beautiful beaches, natural, and pretty wildlife? This super cool tour takes you to various snorkeling points around the beautiful island of Koh Tao, stopping off for lunch in the middle.

Come up close with turtles, amazing fish, and coral life! If you want to see some bigger sea life, there’s also a shark-viewing and dolphin-watching boat excursion at the end of the day. So, if you love watersports, wildlife, and being out on the open water, this Thai tour is for you!

4. James Bond Island by Premium Yacht

Okay, if you and your partner are feeling fancy and a little bit extra, this Phuket favorite is going to be perfect for you. Now, James Bond Island and the accompanying Phang Nga Bay are super famous for their beauty and for being immortalized in film.

However, you can beat the crowds with this unique tour that takes you to these two iconic locations on a premium yacht.

Enjoy a luxurious onboard dinner, canoe through the caves and arches of Hong Island, and relax as you watch the sunset with a complimentary cocktail. Honestly, it sounds like paradise, right?

5. Tiger Cave Temple and Hot Springs Tour

If you want a blend of culture, natural beauty, and relaxation, this is the tour for you. Head to Krabi and explore the amazing Tiger Cave Temple before wandering around the stunning Emerald Pools.

Make sure to bring your bathing suit with you to the hot springs afterward. Trust me, it’s the perfect antidote to hiking around the jungle and exploring the temples.

You can soak your muscles, watch the world go by, and be surrounded by the best nature that Krabi has to offer. It’s a day trip that seems to have it all!
